(...Avenger and Impala SS stuff...) If NASCAR's stock cars were even remotely "stock", this news would matter.

I wouldn't fret too much.
Monte Carlo will be back in five to six years, when they see no improvement in sales for the Impala. (Lumina, anyone?)
As for Dodge, they're just trying to find something that translates to a fast car on the track. Honestly, they're the red-headed step-child of Nascar. Chevy and Ford have dominated the series since the late '80's - early '90's after Buick and Olds backed out. Sure, they get wins here and there, but on a team by team basis, they're lacking the mega-team support necessary to make some serious noise in Nascar. Penske and Evernham are good organizations, but you're basically looking at four drivers vs. everybody else.
I'm really interested in the second article, however. There is mention that Nascar is looking to introduce models wholly separate from those run in the Cup series. They say 2010, but I wish they would do it sooner. It would stop a great deal of argument over the "Buschwhackers". I think it's a fair statement that most of the cup drivers use those races as practice sessions for the Cup races, and putting them in a different car with different body styles would pretty much trash any information that would normally translate from the Busch race to the Cup race.
That's not to say that Cup teams will stop fielding cars. It is still a valuable driver development tool, but I think you'll see less of the cup stars running Busch races on a regular basis.

Hell why don't they just put the Gremlin, Pacer,Edsen, and Family Truckster on the track? Nascar = All about the MONEY and F--K the fans.

they're the same thing (COT=Car Of Tomorrow, COTF=Car Of The Future). COTF is just another name for it(I don't know why...I mean...1 name for the same thing is good enough for me lol).

I got better news for you....Busch (if it stays that name) won't be using same cars as Cup....Rumors are going around that you'll see the Solara for Toyota, the Camaro, and Mustang on the track. Nothing yet for Dodge.
And the OTHER rumor going around is, get this, Nextel Cup might be a thing of the past in the next few years....COMCAST is rumored to be interested in Sprint/Nextel. Isn't THAT Comcastic? They can't get their internet straight, so they think sponsoring this is gonna help?
