...all hail the King.
Like it or not, Gordon just made his next mark on the record books, and in quite a unique fashion.
The fact that he passed Dale is impressive enough, but there are some special things about today.
1. Dale Earnhardt holds the record for most wins at Talladega. 2. Dale Earnhardt won his last race at Talladega. 3. Today, April 29th, was Dale's birthday.
Three (3) special things about today's win that confirm his position as one of the all-time Greats.

TODAY APRIL 29 2007 WILL ALWAYS BE A DAY TO REMEMBER AND I MEAN THAT NOT TO IN ANY WAY BE DISRESPECTFUL TO THE LATE GREAT DALE EARNHARDT. IT IS THE DAY THAT A YOUNG MAN THAT DALE HELPED AND ALWAYS SAID THAT THIS MAN WILL BE ANOTHER GREAT RACE CAR DRIVER IN HIS DAY... ;D ;D

Well its rather obvious now Tony Stewart was dead on Nascar wants to make Gordo and Johnson there poster boys for auto racing Its Pro Wrestling in a 800 hp car. (I have a completely new found respect for Tony he has balls and im glad he spoke up) Dont worry tho all you die hard true blue racing fans Nascar will ruin the sport and the fans will pick up the peices and get us back to real "honest" (lol) Competitive non fixed racing be it on a beach somewhere or at a local dirt track Kinda easy to spot a cheater when they qualify .5 seconds faster than anyone else but hey keep your heads in the sand and pretend that Jimmie and Jeffy are gods gift to stock car racing... Those of us with brains can see its all about $$ and ratings And NOT ABOUT RACING Money talks and the 24 is all corporate it adds up real nicely when ya take in the big picture Corporate driver for a corporate sport . Just look for those JG Yellows

I am a Dale Fan. I am also a Dale Jr Fan.
Dale respected Jeff Gordon enough to become business partners with him. They later sold the company and both made a big profit.
I do not have the correct name but iI think maybe Chase or some other T-shirt company bought them out.
Jeff Gordon can wheel a car.
He has earned my respect as a Driver on and off the track.
He earned Dale's respect -
Who named him "BOY WONDER" ?
It was Dale, that is who gave him that nickname.
You do not win that many races or titles by chance.

Not a big Gordon fan, but after hearing about the finish this week, I'm afraid Gordon is back. And by that I don't mean he's a threat to win... I'm talking about being in a form that we haven't seen for years. A threat to dominate the season, not just a weekend here or there.
The biggest reason is the way he's winning. Of course he's a threat to win, he's a good driver in a good car. The scariest thing IMO is the luck factor. He caught a late caution a couple of weeks ago while leading. Takes the checkers at Darlington blowing more steam than a nuclear power plant... and pits as a caution comes out late in the race at Martinsville that puts him up front for the finish.
Luck is definitely in his favor at this point, and that's a dangerous thing for the competition with a team and driver that strong.
