Here's a little more information as to why this is being done, for those that don't follow F-1 closely... racingone.com/article.aspx?artnum=38042Seems pretty stiff, but considering the high level of technology in F-1 racing, it would make sense that having any kind of technical data from a competitor would give them an upper hand into how the car is built, or what kind of setups they use, or what their motor program is like, and be able to analyze it to either employ the same tactics, or find a way to improve on them. To be perfectly honest, I don't follow F-1 very closely. However, given the massive amounts of data they can obtain from the cars electronically, I'm almost surprised we haven't seen a story like this sooner.
