When they invited anyone with a truck and no sanity to do some time trials, I gladly accepted. Armed with only a 1977 2WD 4-cylinder Toyota pickup, I drove to the track and competed. I lost horribly, but that was the point. I was up against lifted Chevys and Fords, so I had no chance to begin with. However, the whole point of going was achieved. The crowd thought it was hilarious and awesome that someone would take a low vehicle to this event. I was more popular than the drivers who brought cars to race. I think the icing on the cake for the night was this: I was the only person who didn't destroy my truck. Some didn't even make the first jump, others made at least the first round. So considering I actually drove mine to the track and back home, I consider that a victory. Anyway, enjoy my first taste of wrecking before I came here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByZ8gC9v88Q

That's pretty wild for a street vehicle.
I was driving a trail on the woods a few years back, going way too fast as usual, and I caught a huge hump similar to some of those. It launched my Grand Cherokee. In fact, for a moment, all I could see was sky, despite being in a forest. The landing was wild. The stock shock absorbers survived only a few weekends of that phase of off-roading. I came outside one Monday morning to go to work, and there were two greasy puddles under the front end.
But I only did that big jump once. You did it half a dozen times per lap! How did your body feel after that? Did you reinforce your seat for the event?
I recommend the experience of launching all four wheels off the ground to anyone who enjoys a very large adrenaline rush. It scares the crap out of me, and I'm pretty scare-resistant as long as I'm driving.

Wow, I wish we had good offroading trails like that around here.
I didn't do much to my truck for the event. All they asked was that you wear a helmet and your seat belt. My truck was so long that when the back end went over the jump, it pushed the front down really hard. I know if I ever do it again I'm gonna get a foam neck brace...I was sore for a week but it was worth it.

nowa days even in local racing the track requires you to atleast have a neckbrace, but they recommend a hutchens or a hans device
