Norm has mentioned it on TS, and I know we have a couple of aircraft enthusiasts around, so I'm starting a thread for those that haven't heard about it yet. Microsoft's Flight Simulator XIt's due out next month, and from what I've seen on the website and in the demo, I'm really starting to look forward to it. The demo is massive, but if you try it you'll see why it's so large. Immense world detail. It only has two missions and free roam in limited airspace, and a one hour time limit on each start up. (i.e., if you want to continue playing the demo, you have to reboot the game every hour, as it shuts down automatically.) What has my interest is the multiplayer function. I'm curious to see how involved that is. I'm also tempted to get the deluxe edition, because of the added TRACON feature that won't be included in the standard release.

Instead of starting a new thread, I found this one DB started way back when. I have FSX installed now on all 3 of my systems and I put a server up today (March 21st 2012) and it's still up. I think I named it "WRECKERS" but I for get now (it's been a few hours) but I have "HiGripFlyers" as the host.
If anyone want's to get online and fly during the week days I can leave it up on either system. I don't think anyone can connect right now as I have not done any port forwarding but if anyone at least sees it, let me know.

I saw FSX at a store here for like $9.00 new, I'll get a couple for folks that may want to fly if they still have them, your at the top of that list Pete.

The password for the FSX "HiGrip Flyers" server is dice.
You need to connect thru Gamespy so make sure you have an account there. I've used Gamespy for years with no problems though some days we get discos a lot, not real bad though.
I'll set a new start point around the world daily but you will have the option to start anywhere you want. I do it this way in case someone comes on while others are flying already, this way you can start at an airport close to where the rest are and then get in the group.

I re-installed a bunch of user & pro made planes that I had on before and we used, like the C-130 & B52 etc (over 50) and as I installed them I saved them to a separate folder. I zipped up the folder (it's called NEW FOLDER so remember where you unzip to) and put it on my web space. If you want the use the same aircraft then download the zip and get to installing. Remember, on some you need to put the EFFECTS and GAUGES in the correct folders, READ THE README file.
If you screw something up, don't blame me for your failure to comprehend instructions, I had no problems installing any of these and so far they all work fine. I also put in a bunch of ROTOR aircraft too. (Helicopters)
The zip is about 1.2 GIG so it will take a few minutes to D/L
Get the zip HERE
