My wheel will not work properly!? Hit gas and its full on . same with brake and turns?! I can't even get out of the garage! (...) Didn't work either?!! My wheel is cocked left when i get in car. If i turn it slightly, it goes all the way right?! THIS SUX!! From what I've read on the forums, it's all fixable. Do you already have have rFactor? Most people are recommending that you simply bring over your wheel and initialization settings from rFactor.
It sounds like owning, having experience with, and not minding the limitations of rFactor are a valuable prerequisites for this mod.

Did you get it sorted out yet? After dumbing down the graphics a bit and updating to latest ATI driver it runs like a charm. I ran some offline laps at Daytona and had fun. It's growing on me. The engine sound at idle is sweet, but mid range sounds gay. Open throttle sounds nice. Spotter annoys me with "there is a car inside" All I need is "inside" ( that comment that I agree with was made on the ARCA forums) Drafting was... different than NR2003. I had all AIDS off and could rub a little without spinning out like in NR2003, liked that. Rub wall the wrong way and it slows ya down. Wall will own many I predict. I will tweak my settings and then go online racing this week. Like I said, with a good fixed setup it looks like it could be fun. Just try to keep an open mind and not think of it as a NR2003 killer and you might like it. Other than ARCA and NR2003 there is nothing else for us racers. The more options/packed servers the better I say. It does need a patch to fix a few things, but don't ALL games? New Quad Core PC is being built as we speak

try this: Start/Settings/Control Panel/Game Controllers. Then.. Double Left Click on the WHEEL(momo etcc), then click the Settings button (bottom right). Then set these options... Combined - unticked also see this dudes G25 setup.. because you really need a G25! Some settings will help with your wheel i imagine too forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=312932

Other than ARCA and NR2003 there is nothing else for us racers. The more options/packed servers the better I say. I don't have the same enthusiasm for our current options. I've been looking for a way to say this for a long time, and I think I finally found it:
We stock car sim racers, painters, modders, and track makers are a community of limited size. I like us being bunched together in one world. I'll use the metaphor of a colony of bees. It's fun being in the middle of the hive with all of the buzz going on. And its always good to have a few foragers rooting around in new areas to determine when and where we should migrate the hive, but when we do, I'd urge us to keep the colony together.
Therein lies my problem with ASR. This sim has been hyped to be an enormous step forward from NR2003 at launch. If it was, then it would be a no-brainer for the whole colony to migrate and leave NR2003 behind. But it's obvious that there are limitations inherent to the ISI/rFactor foundation of the new sim that make it worse, in some areas, than NR2003. The track quality and graphics don't bring substantial improvements, if any. In several cases, they are worse -- there isn't even a pit crew! The racing experience is better in some ways (walls, net code), and worse in others (rolling out from the garage every time, easy to drive arcade-like physics). The AI is said to be awful, so offline racing is certainly a step backward. I am hearing that the software's overall user experience is rFactor-esque, and that alone frustrates many of us.
Now, combine that with The Sim Factory's limitations and control over mod-ability and track making, and ASR is really starting to suck for many members of our community. The brilliant imaginations of our best modders and track makers are stifled, so those of us that love the variety of tracks can't expect to enjoy anything new from them in ASR, killing a large part of the fun we enjoyed under NR2003.
I'm sure ASR will improve in later versions, but we seem to be far, far, far from the enjoyability level of NR2003 in many regards. The empty and obviously unachievable promises for ASR version one to be better in every respect and their unwillingness to change some of the most severe limitations make me resentful toward The Sim Factory for factionalizing our great community. Instead of a new beginning, this feels like an end as the bee colony splits up.

I agree NR2003 will live on, as long as the Sierra servers stay up and others keep an interest, but like life we must move on when that happens, and ARCA is the closest thing right now.
Where did you hear arcade like physics and easy to drive? Not so true from what I have seen so far.
In the end it's just 50 bucks to have more options to race online with humans. We blow more than that on other stupid shit.

everything worked within the control panel and the wheel's software. When i start game it acts as if was digital buttons. Either on or off. I've been dealing with same axis, for now, cuz i can't stop testing the game. I'm havin a blast with this thing, and i haven't even raced online yet.

UHH ya like Log said in a whole lotta words IT SUCKS Really? Did yourself and Logg even try the game or are you just on the bashing wagon? There are more goodies coming to this SIM. I think it might be a hit.

Really? Did yourself and Logg even try the game or are you just on the bashing wagon? There are more goodies coming to this SIM. I think it might be a hit. I'm just on the bashing wagon because I prefer not to invest in The Sim Factory's approach. In my opinion, they sh-- the bed when they chose the ISI/rFactor engine as a foundation for this. There are inherent nuances of that code base that will always make parts of their product suck compared to NR2003. I love NR2003 and I do vow to compare everything to it.
But you can send me your copy so I can try it and tell you that there are no pit crews, starting from the garage every time sucks, the replay system sucks, the default camera angle collection sucks, we can't globally change track grip, we can't create new tracks, and the graphics are inferior (compare Kansas for a good example).
Without even taking a lap, it hasn't even matched the existing 5-year-old sim in many respects. Should I trade in my widescreen LCD for a 15" CRT monitor when I test it, too?
Without a doubt, physics are great and driving in both sims is extremely fun and competitive, but both are not real racing and they just each have different on-track faults. Very honestly, over the next 10+ years, we can't get a much better simulation behind a PC than either of them. So I choose to stick with the one that has a fantastic user experience and a lifetime worth of tracks and mods and isn't deluding the community into thinking it has entered a new age.
I support a new sim to replace NR2003, but we need to start from NR2003 and build upwards, not from rFactor. My opinion, of course.

Myself, after dropping $50 more times then I've dropped toilet loads I check things out more to make sure it's worth buying. One of the things is a DEMO, oh no DEMO here? bummer, EVEN rFactor had a demo.
After that I go by word of mouth, day one of release it was on Ebay because some thought it sucked, oops, that aint a good sign. Forums were littered with IT SUCKS posts, the makers were RUDE, ARROGANT and MOUTHY in their responses to people even to the point of BANNING anyone that gave a bad comment!! WELL EXCUSSSSSEEEE MEEEEE.
Then we come to screens and videos, at times I wasn't sure what I was looking at, was it and rFactor video or a bad NR2003 video, naww can't be NR2003, their graphics are better. The screens were cute but EAs Nascar screens were better. That can't be good.
I THINK I'LL WAIT !!!!!

They never sold that game over here. It looks brilliant though... You can't purchase it? www.thesimfactory.com/ARCA is ok. It has a little way to go but I think it's coming along. They just released a road course for the twistie fans! , Montreal. I am still not fond of the engine sounds though!
