It came to my attention, on several occasions this weekend, that people were unable to see the cars from the .exe files I have uploaded.
There are a couple of things you have to consider about custom paints...
If you are on a server and in your car, you will not be able to see a player's custom paint if that player connects after you are on the track. All you will see is a fuzzy version of a multiplayer car. Is there a way to fix this? I doubt it. I would imagine that it is akin to trying to view an imported .tga in the in-game paint shop. The game just can't handle it for some reason.
I'm pretty sure, but not positive, that this is different if a player is using a default paint scheme. There are, however, so few of us that use a default scheme, that I can't be 100% positive of this.
The absolute best way to find out if you have a player's paint or not is to get out of your car, and find them on the replay viewer. The player you are looking for will have to be on the track, but it's better than riding around the racetrack trying to get close enough to the player to see his paint.
Same thing with a fall-through. You start the race, seeing a person's car. That person loses their connection. When they re-connect, all you get is the fuzzy multiplayer car. You know you have the car, because you were seeing it earlier, but because you were in your car when the player reconnected, you're not seeing it all of a sudden.
It sucks, but it's just one of the bugs of the game.
