We've been running the hardtop version of this mod but some like the convertibles, so, it seems they have a 50/50 style version out that has both. Starting tonight I am switching to that version, in a few minutes in facts. I will be putting the link below to the website with the mod and a picture that shows which one to get. It goes in the SERIES folder like all other mods. Get the 55 mod HEREHere's the picture of the one you need: DMR_Dirt55chevy_gns.rar

When you go to create your car and select the make from the dropbox, here is what each make does: Chevy = 55 Chevy Hardtop Dodge = 55 Chevy Convertible or 57 Chevy Convert DownLoad Click HereFord = 57 Chevy Convertible DownLoad Click HerePontiac = 57 Chevy Hardtop Cars should be painted on the Chevy template for that year so they look right.

Well that's good to know, that's for sure. Not everyone will make their own car but for those of us that do, we can do both now. To summarize, we make the car using the template of out choice and when that's done we "Save Copy As" (via our painting program, I still use Paint Shop Pro 7) in the TGA format and save it in the NR2003/exports_imports folder. When that's done we start the game, go to Opponent Manager and using the pull down menu in there we make a new car. The pull down menu gives us the option to choose a Chevy, Dodge, Ford and Pontiac and from what you found out the first and last (Chevy & Pontiac) are hardtop cars and the 2 in the middle (Dodge & Ford) are convertibles. We can get either the 55 Chev or the 57 Chev based on what you found. We import the TGA to the car we made and that's all. I used the Dodge template when I made my car so when I made the new car file in the game I naturally used the Dodge make in the pull down menu, that being based on the 55 convert, that's what you see in the game now. I'm making a 57 Chev for Ken (AustinRacing) so after I finish the template I will create 2 new cars for him based on the Ford & Pontiac pull down menu options. That's pretty cool, now that I've proof read what I just typed I find myself thinking WTH am I talking about? I hope your not as confused as I am and that it's all perfectly clear to everyone...... Chevy = 55 Chev Hardtop Dodge = 55 Chev Convert Ford = 57 Chev Convert Pontiac = 57 Chev HardtopHave a nice day......

You really should use just the 55 Chevy or the 57 Chevy templates if you want everything to line up right.

To get it to work in game unpack DAT file and replace each of the Pace car(2-5).MIP and Pace car.MIP with the correct 1024x1024 file Then rename the DAT file and move it different area to store if you want to go back Next move all unpacked file back 55chevy_gns folder
